Obituary for Arlene V. Kausch

Arlene V. Kausch
Arlene V. (Noll) Kausch, 96 of Wernersville, passed away on April 27th, at the Health Center at Phoebe Berks Village. She was the widow of Eugene C. Kausch.

Born July 18, 1921, in West Reading, Mrs. Kausch was a daughter of the late John and Clara (Rickenbach) Noll.

After graduating from West Reading High School, Mrs. Kausch worked at a number of part-time secretarial positions before becoming a full-time secretary at Barbey Electronics, where she worked for 15 years. She was then Administrative Assistant at St. Peter's UCC in Wilshire, PA, retiring after 21 years.

Mrs. Kausch is survived by her daughter Deborah, wife of Barry Weinhold, of Wyomissing. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews: Karl, Stanley and Louise Noll; and Richard Latshaw and his daughter Karen.

She was predeceased by a sister Edna Latshaw and four brothers: John, William, Wayne and Russell Noll.

Mrs. Kausch was a very active member of St. John’s UCC, Reading, where she was a Sunday School teacher for 20 years, served on consistory as a deacon, and was advisor to the youth group. She was also a Camp Fire Leader and helped with various outreach projects.

Later in life, volunteering at Phoebe was one of Mrs. Kausch’s main activities for each day. She helped at the Phoebe Health Center for many years, and was the oldest long-time member of the Phoebe "Choraleers".

She was a very outgoing, generous, caring person who drew people to her. Through the years, she often found little gifts left anonymously at her door as a sign of thanks for her kind ways.

Her favorite bible verse was Psalm 118: “This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.” She believed you should live each day to the fullest and did so until her death.

The Kausch family would like to express their great appreciation to the compassionate caregivers of Phoebe Health Center for their loving care they provided to Arlene.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Phoebe Berks Village Chapel, 1 Reading Dr, Wernersville, PA 19565. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Arlene's memory to Phoebe Health Center at 1 Heidelberg Drive, Wernersville, PA 19565
