Donald L. Horning, 84, formerly of Wernersville, passed away March 11, 2018, in Mifflin Center, Shillington.

Born in Hahnstown, he was the son of the late Samuel E. and Myrtle I. (Weinhold) Horning.

He was a 1951 graduate of Wilson High School

Donald worked as a Set-Up Technician in Manufacturing at Polymer Corporation in Reading for 34 years until his retirement in February of 1991.

During his early years, he enjoyed bowling. Donald was a true Phillies fan, he loved trips to the casino, and he absolutely loved ice cream.

Donald is survived by two daughters: Debra R., wife of David E. Swoffer, Wernersville; and Barbara J., wife of Dudley J. Griffith, Sinking Spring; three grandsons: Christopher, husband of Aimee Griffith, South Carolina; Matthew, husband of Jennifer Eshelman, Ephrata; and Adam, husband of Kelsey Troxel, Shoemakersville; three great granddaughters: Samantha Griffith, Julia Eshelman, and Madalyn Eshelman; and one sister: Margaret Eisenhofer, Leesport.

He was predeceased by one brother: Eugene S. Horning.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA 19611. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.
