Obituary for Dorothy J. Vaughn

Dorothy J.  Vaughn
Dorothy J. (Jordan) Vaughn, 72, of Wernersville, passed away on May 9, 2017, in her residence.

She was the wife of Tyrone L. Vaughn to whom she was married to for almost 50 years. They were married July 8, 1967.

Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Mckinley and Louise (Ervin) Jordan.

Dorothy was a graduate of Sollers Point High School in Maryland.

She was employed by Lucent Technologies, Inc. for 30 years before her retirement in 1997.

Dorothy was a woman strong in her faith who loved attending church at Glad Tidings Assembly of God of Reading.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Mckinley and Louise (Ervin) Jordan and by her brother, Arthur Jordan.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children: Antoine, husband of Nichole Vaughn, Woodbridge, VA; and Antoinette, wife of Christopher Bishop, Sinking Spring; and two grandchildren: Antoine Vaughn, Jr., Woodbridge, VA; and Jamaari Vaughn Bishop, Sinking Spring, nephew Arthur Jordan, AZ; and Niece, Aretha Jordan, Baltimore, MD. She is survived by four sisters-in-law: Edmonia Kelson, Balitmore, MD; Ada, wife of Bobby McClain, Baltimore, MD; Lillian Wright, Baltimore, MD; and Syvil, wife of Michael Mobley, Rosedale, MD. Numerous family and friends, whom she loved dearly, also survive her.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, in Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 1110 Snyder Rd, Reading, PA 19609. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. in the church. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Edward J.
