Obituary for Mary Ann Bono (Moxley)

Mary Ann (Moxley) Bono, 79, of Wyomissing, passed away January 12, 2019, at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

She was the wife of Joseph J. Bono; they were married on August 17, 1968.

Born in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Mary A. (Dunn) Moxley.

Mary Ann was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Pittsburgh, PA in 1957 and St. Francis University, Loretto, PA in 1961.

She was a teacher for West Mifflin North High School and Abington High School. Later, she was a substitute teacher for various high schools throughout Berks County.

Mary Ann was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.

She enjoyed book club and her needle work group, and was also an avid bridge player. Above all she loved her family; she loved to spend time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons: Dr. Bartholomew R. Bono, Lower Merion; Christopher C. Bono, Shillington; and Daniel J., married to Fara Bono, Marlboro, NJ.; and four grandchildren: Aidan, Niccolo, Hannah, and Jacob. Two siblings, C. Raymond, married to Cecelia Moxley, The Woodlands, TX and Karen L., married to George McKenna, Bala Cynwyd, PA also survive her.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, 2600 St. Albans Drive, Sinking Spring, PA.
