Obituary for William J. Pochuski, Sr.

William J.  Pochuski, Sr.
William J. Pochuski, Sr., 71, of Shillington, passed away peacefully August 13, 2017, in his residence with his loving wife by his side.

He was the husband of Iva (Schlegel) Pochuski whom he married on April 4, 1964.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late John and Virginia (Blanski) Pochuski.

Bill was a 1963 graduate of Reading High School.

He was employed as a driver salesman by Freihofer's Baking Company, Mrs. Smith's Pies, and Maier's Bakery. He was also employed by Parente/Beard as a courier. He was most recently employed by Security Guards, Inc., and worked his last day on July 29, 2017.

He was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church in Whitfield where he was an usher and member of their Seniors Organization. Bill served as a member of Knights of Columbus Light of Christ Council #8726 at St. Ignatius Loyola Church and held several offices and chaired many committees. He was honored to have his family named "Family of the Year" through the Knights of Columbus in 2015.

Bill was proud of his Polish heritage. He loved his Catholic faith, his family, Knights of Columbus, polka music, gardening, and classic cars. He was a loving husband, father, and Dziadzie. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife Iva, he is survived by three children: William Pochuski, Jr., husband of Stephanie Black-Pochuski, Reading; Angela Pochuski, Exton; and Virginia Rightmyer, widow of Steven Rightmyer, Reading; two grandchildren: Kathryn Pochuski, wife of Patrick Pochuski; Dallas, TX; and Cory Rightmyer, Reading; and great-grandchild, Tate Pochuski, Dallas, TX.

He was predeceased by two sisters: Anna Lubas and Rose Leszczynski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon on Friday, August 18, 2017, in St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, 2810 St Albans Dr, Whitfield, PA 19608. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Reading. A viewing will be held on Friday from 10:30 a.m.- 12 Noon in the church. Contributions may be made in William's name to the St. Ignatius Loyola Memorial Fund at the above address or Kennedy House at 532 Spruce St., Reading, PA 19602. Edward J.
