Obituary for George C. Levesque

George C. Levesque
George C. Levesque, 76, of Reading, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017, in Reading Hospital.

Born in Poughkeepsie, NY, he was son to the late Mary Peruse, and the late Joseph Levesque.

George was a High school Graduate with some college and technical training.

George worked as an Entrepreneur with a specialty in sales. He told me once "You cannot sell to anyone, if you don't love everyone." This was funny because he said this to me when I was young, and I saw the quote stated by Dickie Fox in the movie Jerry McGuire many years later.

George was a proud US Army Veteran who served in Vietnam as an advisor pre-war and as a medic during the war based in Guam. As an E6 he was directly responsible for setting up the communications system in Guam that was used to coordinate multiple refugee camps with the Navy. In order to accomplish this, he informed us that he stole the communications equipment from the navy in order to setup the network and was then given a medal for doing so. My earliest memories were of him training to jump from helicopters in Fort Sam Houston, and him taking me on one of those jumps in a double harness.

Pop, as many of us knew him, was an avid online gamer in his later years; known as Elderhawk, Miningyahoo, and Rasta Bigboom in Eve-online. He gave you the shirt off his back whether you were enemy or ally...he wasn't in it to troll, he just played to relax. He didn't bother anyone and was good to all who knew him. Sadly, Pop was fighting different cancers for the last 25 years so he has never been able to set money aside to prepare for the inevitable. This is why we are asking for help.

He is survived by biological sons: Denis G. Korb, married to Julie E. Korb, who have one child; Alexander Levesque, who has two children; and biological daughter: Ann Horton-Vogel, married to Dave Vogel, who have four children.

A Graveside service will be held Friday, October 27, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at Indiantown Gap Rd, Annville, PA 17003. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made online to the family's YouCaring fundraising account at: https://www.youcaring.com/deniskorb-990005?fb_action_ids=953145988159731&fb_action_types=youcaringcom%3Ashare or checks can be made out to Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., and sent to 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, Pa 19611 to help defray funeral expenses.
