John K. Romig, 85, of Shillington passed away December 12, 2017 in the home of his daughter, where he resided.

He was the beloved husband of Marian D. Romig, for 39 years and who died May 13, 1991. Later in life, he resided with his dear friend and companion, Joan Whitenight.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Harold and Mary Romig.

He was a graduate of Reading High School and Kutztown State Teachers College.

John was employed as an investment broker and was also an amateur art dealer and book collector.

He is survived by his two children, Alan, husband of Vickie Romig, and Carol G., wife of Mark Hornberger, Shillington. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Matthew Hornberger, Exeter Township; and Robert Hornberger, Shillington.

The family would like to thank Reading Dialysis and Covenant Home Care and Hospice for their compassionate care.
