Jean A. Stafford, 86, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017, in her West Reading residence, with her family by her side.

She was the loving wife of Stewart E. Stafford, who died April 4, 2013.

Born in West Lawn, she was the daughter of the late Charles S. and Elsie (Putt) Guiles.

Jean was a 1949 graduate of Wilson High School.

She worked as a floral designer, but ultimately dedicated her life to taking care of her family. Jean was a dedicated, loving and kind wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also an avid gardener.

Jean was a member of St. Mark's U.C.C., Reading.


She is survived by three children: Cindy M. Heleva, Doylestown, Keith A. Stafford, West Reading, and Stephanie L. Gring, West Lawn. Two grandchildren: Jace D. Gring, and Airman first class E-3, Kiley A. Gring, also survive her.

Jean was predeceased by three brothers: James, Donald, and Gerald Guiles.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at 1 p.m., in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be private in Laureldale Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
