Obituary for Mary V. Arciosky (Marino)

Mary V. (Marino) Arciosky, 88, formerly of West Reading, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 7, 2018, in ManorCare Health Services-Sinking Spring, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Leon L. Arciosky, who passed away on July 23, 1995. They would have celebrated 40 years of marriage in 1995, and Mary’s family takes great comfort in knowing they are now reunited.

Born October 13, 1929 in Birdsboro, Mary was a daughter of the late Constantine and Anna (DiMenne) Marino. Mary was a woman of great faith who prayed the rosary every night for the intentions of her family and all those in need. Above all else, she truly adored her grandchildren with all of her heart, and especially enjoyed family dinner filled with her love and laughter.

A 1947 graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School, Mary worked as a Secretary for C. Allied Company, Mt. Penn, retiring in 1996. She was also very proud to be the first-ever employment secretary for the R.G. Hill Company, Reading, from 1948-1963.

Mary is survived by her daughter Nancy L., wife of Clifford E. Plummer, Wernersville, with whom she resided. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jeffrey Plummer, husband of Katie (Zeigenfuse), Harrisburg, and Colleen Plummer, fiancé of Tim Rath, Mountville.

She was predeceased by her sisters: Anna M. Kocur, Elizabeth V. Ruppert and Verna F. Burns, and her brother Romelo J. Marino.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at St. Ignatius of Loyola Church, 2810 St. Albans Drive, Sinking Spring, with a committal service to follow in the Chapel of St. George, Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to Mass, from 9:30-10:30 a.m., at the Church.
