Condolence From: Michele Knecht

Condolence: Dear Lisa: I just found out today about Craig's passing and was so upset that I did not find out sooner. My husband & I would have definitely gone to Craig's visitation in February. We have been Foghat fans since 1972 and Craig had a special place in our hearts ever since he invited us on the Foghat tour bus after a concert in Reading, PA, around 1985. We saw Foghat at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe a few years ago when your son's band was also appearing. We could tell from the look on Craig's face that he was a very proud father. We were devasted to later learn about his cancer.Every time we would see Linda Earle at a Foghat concert we would ask about Craig's illness and told her to tell him that his fans were praying for his good health. Our thoughts and prayers are with you & your son. We will immensely miss seeing Craig perform.God bless you. Michele and Jim Knecht of Bethlehem, PA

Condolence From: Kevin Mello

Condolence: My condolences on Craig's passing. I first met Craig in the mid 1980s at a Foghat show. He invited a friend of mine and I onto Foghat's tour bus. We talked for hours about music and gear. I even asked him to sell me his blue 1965 Fender Jazz Bass. He politely declined. A couple of years ago he told me that he still had the bass and would never sell it saying "It's like a member of my family". Craig's style definitely influenced my playing. I wouldn't be doing music for television if it wasn't for Craig and his influence. He was a great musician and an even better person. He will be missed.

Condolence: Lisa and Colin: My brother, Richard Laubach, and I were Craig's only cousins, children of Sarah Stout Laubach, Gene's sister. While I was not close to Craig given the difference in our ages, I was his guest at several concerts in Syracuse, NY. And I was at your wedding with my daughter, Martha and her 6 weeks old daughter, Jordan! I have followed Craig on Facebook and prayed for you all during the long ordeal after diagnosis. Everything I have ever read about him shows that he was a wonderful human being. Prayers continue for your comfort and peace. Barbara
