Sophie P. (Kochanowski) Schlageter, 100, of Reading, passed away March 12, 2018, in Rittenhouse Village at Muhlenberg.

She the loving wife of Paul J. Schlageter who passed away in April of 2000.

Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Korsulis) Kochanowski.

She was a member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church of Reading.

Sophie is survived by two daughters: Bernadette M., wife of Dr. Bruce E. Ilgen, Mohnton; and Mary Ann, wife of Gerald H. Keinard, Reading; and four grandchildren: Jeffrey P. Ilgen, Peter J. Ilgen (deceased) Jennifer Keinard, and Andrew M. Keinard.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Paul J. Schlageter, Jr., who passed away in 1979. She was also predeceased by six sisters and three brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 151 N 9th St, Reading, PA 19601. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
