Elizabeth M. (Papich) Scheck, 91, of West Reading, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2018, in the Mifflin Center of Shillington.

She was the beloved wife of the late George Robert Scheck who passed away on March 3, 1987. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Anton and Henry Papich.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Anton and Mary (Russ) Papich.

Betty attended Reading High School, graduating in 1944.

She was employed by Textile Machine Works as a secretary and later worked as a secretary for the March of Dimes. Betty was a member of the Slovene National Benefit Society for over 70 years.

Betty loved her home in West Reading, purchased in 1954, where she lived for 64 years. She was an avid reader and lover of animals. She enjoyed working on her word search puzzles and indulging her sweet tooth.

She is survived by three daughters: Patricia Ann Scheck, Mohnton; Mary Beth Colton, Tabernacle, NJ; and Judith Scheck-Ruhmel, wife of Brian Ruhmel, Wyomissing; and three grandchildren: Emma, Zachery, and Sean, all of Tabernacle, NJ.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Betty's memory to the Humane Society at 1801 N 11th St, Reading, PA 19604. Edward J.
