Obituary for Cindy Lou Schaeffer

Cindy Lou Schaeffer
Cindy Lou (Bradford) Schaeffer, 57, Reading, passed away on April 11, 2018, in the Reading Hospital.

She was the loving wife of 26 years to Frank A. Schaeffer.

Born on February 26, 1961, in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Barbara A.(Weierbach) Bradford.

Cindy received her Associates in Computer Science at R.A.C.C. She furthered her education at the age of 48 and graduated from the Reading Hospital School of Nursing, where she graduated tenth in her class, acheiving a 4.0 GPA and was proud of that accomplishment.

She was employed as a Registered Nurse for Berks Visiting Nurses Association, Wyomissing and Pottstown Visiting Nurses Association. She also worked for the Reading Hospital Spruce Building and Behavioral Haven, Reading as a Psychiatric Nurse.

Cindy loved cooking, baking, art, drawing & painting, calligraphy, gardening, dancing, bird watching and looked forward to her dozen perfect days. She loved to learn and particularly loved exposing herself to new knowledge. She was an avid reader, music and party-planner enthusiast, who especially loved to do so with her daughter. She also loved walking bare foot on the beach and watching the beauty of the sunrise, as the seagulls glide in the sky, often giving her confirmation that her mother's presence was always with her. She enjoyed spending her dozen perfect Pennsylvania days which were 70 and sunny.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Richard Bruce Schaeffer, II, Reading, PA; and Ryan Taylor Schaeffer, Brooklyn, NY; three siblings: Robert Bradford, Allentown, PA; and Nikki Jo Dittrich, Coplay, PA and Sean Bradford, Houston, TX., and her ever loving, supportive aunt, Rebecca (Weierbach) Finkbeiner, Allentown, PA. She is also survived by mother-in-law, Audrey J. Schaeffer, West Reading; brothers-in-law, Richard D., husband of CB Schaeffer; Bill, husband of Charo Schaeffer; James, husband of Cari Schaeffer; Charles, husband of Julie Schaeffer; sister-in-law, Sheila, wife of Mike Yasher; nine nieces and six grandnieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Richard B. Schaeffer.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. MPK Memorial Chapel at Albright College, 1318 Union St, Reading, PA 19604. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements. Contributions can be made to Mary's Shelter, 615 Kenhorst Blvd., Reading PA 19611. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
