Obituary for Margaret Ann White (Heisler)

Margaret Ann (Heisler) White, 90, formerly of Flying Hills, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Berks Heim, where she had resided for nearly six years. Born April 14, 1928 in Port Carbon, Margaret was a daughter of the late Henry J. and Elizabeth (Scully) Heisler. She was married to Donald L. White, Wyomissing, and predeceased by her first husband William B. Biltheiser, who passed in 1970.

Margaret was totally devoted to her family, and loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren unconditionally. There was no kinder, more giving person in this world. Her home was always open, and there was always plenty of great food to go around. Quite simply, her children couldn’t have asked for a better mom.

Margaret enjoyed gardening, and was a faithful member of St. Catharine of Siena Parish for many years. She worked for over 15 years in inventory control for Boscov’s.

In addition to her husband, Margaret is survived by her children: daughters Kathy Secord, Flying Hills, and Joann Lakatos, Reading; and her son Joseph Biltheiser, husband of Jean, Gibraltar. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Kevin, Marie, Richard, Brittnee and Tiffanee, and eight great grandchildren, all of whom will miss their very special “Great White” dearly.

Also surviving are a sister Mary Howell, Shillington, and sister-in-law Jean Heisler, Harrisburg. She was predeceased by her brothers George and Robert Heisler.

Margaret’s family would like to thank everyone at Berks Heim for their incredible loving care, especially the kind caregivers at Essick Commons and on Floor B3.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am, Wednesday, May 16 at St. Catharine of Siena RC Church, 4975 Boyertown Pike, Reading. Friends may call one hour prior to Mass, from 9:00-10:00am at the Church. Burial will follow Mass at Gethsemane Cemetery.

While flowers are welcome, donations in Margaret’s name can also be made to Berks Heim Nursing and Rehabilitation, PO Box 1495, Reading, PA 19603.

Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
