Obituary for Bruce J. Weller

Bruce Joseph Weller, 81, of Wyomissing, passed away July 12, 2018, at Phoebe Berks where he had been a resident for several months.

He was the beloved husband of Carol Ann Weller(Nerkowski), with whom he celebrated 56 years of marriage.

Born in Bridgport, CT, he was the son of the late Ralph and Marion Weller(Turbert).

Bruce was a graduate of Fairfield Preparatory School.

He was a United States Army veteran.

Bruce was employed by Carpenter Steel, Bridgport, CT and Cartech, Reading as a metallurgist for 40 years retiring in 2000. He also worked for Swier Upholstery.

He was a member of St. Ignatius of Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.

Bruce enjoyed golfing, sailing and computers. He volunteered his time for the Walk of Life and the American Cancer Society.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, Jeffery R., husband of Carol D. Weller, Sinking Spring; one sister, Maureen, wife of Frank Arsenault. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Kevin M. Weller, Justin S. Weller, Andrew J. Weller, and Douglas J. Weller; five nephews, Scott Racine, Mark, husband of Janice Racine, Joseph, husband of Sue Nerkowski, William, husband of Wendy Nerkowski, Paul, husband of Tracy Nerkowski; niece, Cheryl Busky; five great nephews, Eric, Stephen, Christopher, Matthew, and Ethan; and two great nieces, Sydnie and Jessica.

Bruce was predeceased by two siblings, Joseph Weller and LaVerne, wife of Arnold Miller; brothers-in-law, Chester, husband of Irene Nerkowski, and Victor Nerkowski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 12 pm at St. Ignatius of Loyola R. C. Church, 2810 St Albans Dr, Reading, PA 19608. A viewing will also be held Wednesday, July 18, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading.
