Obituary for Ann Marie Wells

Ann M. Wells, 52 of Wyomissing, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 12 in The Reading Hospital while battling cancer. Born March 27, 1966 in Reading, she was a daughter of John and Elizabeth A. (Myatt) Wells, of Shillington.

A 1984 graduate of the former Holy Name High School, Ann enjoyed a very successful career with Getty Mart, operating their Mohnton location for over 15 years. She worked at Getty with her longtime business partner Christine Leibig, and they remained lifelong friends.

Ann loved life, and always seemed to be happy and laughing. She was an excellent cook and thoroughly enjoyed hosting great parties at her house, especially around the pool. Those who knew Ann the best say she had the kindest heart, especially for her three fur babies: Maggie, Nelly, and “Mad Dog” Casey. Quite simply, you couldn’t ask for a better sister or friend than Ann.

In addition to her parents, Ann is survived by her six brothers and sisters: Peggy Santiago, Spring Township; Mary Hiestand, widow of Brian, Mohrsville; Michael Wells, Sinking Spring; Patrick Wells, husband of Diane, Fleetwood; Karen Gilmer, wife of Corry, Wernersville; and Kevin Wells, husband of Tammy, Nazareth. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her greatly.

A Celebration of Ann’s life and happiness will be held Friday, May 18 at 11:00am at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
