Obituary for Rose Anna Bernecker (Leszczynski)

Rose Anna Bernecker, 89, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 in Berks Heim.

She was the beloved wife for 66 years of Harry T. Bernecker, who died 2016. They were married June 24, 1950.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late B. Alexander and Magdalena (Franckowiak) Leszczynski.

Rose was a 1947 graduate of Nazareth High School.

She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, Whitfield.

Rose worked as a sewing machine operator at L.A. Draperies. She loved to sew all day and everyday.

She is survived by two daughters: Christine R. Bernecker, resident of Berks Heim; and Audrey M. Bernecker, Carrollton, TX. Also surviving her are several nieces and nephews who adore her.

In addition to her husband, Rose was predeceased by a son, Michael J. Bernecker, six brothers and three sisters.

The Bernecker family would like to extend a special thank you to Berks Heim for making Rose and Harry's final years memorable and comfortable.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 18, 2018, at 12 p.m., at St. Ignatius Loyola R. C. Church, 2810 St. Albans Dr., Reading, PA 19608. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church at the above address.
