Condolence: Growing up on Hamilton St, DeMarte's Grocery store on the corner of Hamilton & Front street not only became our grocery store but Danny and Joe his brother became friends and mentors to me and my friends who grew up in the area.
Both Joe and Danny were always friendly and courteous. I loved going into the store to say hello to everyone. I vividly remember to this day how Danny was always washing and polishing his car. He loved his cars and kept very good care of them. If it was a nice day and Danny wasn't working odds were he was washing and polishing his car. In 1961 I joined the US. Air Force and left Reading. Before I left for Vietnam in 1968 I returned to Reading to visit family was able to find Danny to say hello. All of the DeMarte's and Ackers at the store were like a second family to my mother and me. I wish I had been able to find Danny over these past years, but unfortunately I was not able to do so until it was too late. Now all I can say is: Danny you were a good man, I wish you peace in your new journey.
