Pauline A. (Wummer) Benz, 91, formerly of South Heidelberg Township, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 23, 2018 in her residence at ManorCare Health Services-Sinking Spring. Born April 22, 1927 in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Anna (Chelius) Wummer. Pauline was married for 60 years to Matthew A. Benz, who passed in 2008.

Pauline was a 1945 graduate of Reading High School, and was a homemaker her whole life. She was a terrific baker, especially making great desserts. She also enjoyed traveling in the family camper, and loved to browse unique gift shops.

Pauline is survived by her daughter Rebecca, wife of Eric Lutz, Sinking Spring, and her granddaughters, Abigail Lutz, Honey Brook, and Christina Lutz, South Heidelberg, who she truly adored, and who will greatly miss her. She is also survived by a brother Richard Wummer, Hyde Park.

In addition to her husband, Pauline was predeceased by a son Martin A. Benz, who died in 2004.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 28 at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading. Viewings will be held Wednesday evening, June 27 from 6:30-7:30pm, and Thursday morning from 9-10:00am at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA. Burial will follow Mass at Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale.
