Obituary for Patricia Ann Fecile (Price)

Patricia Ann (Price) Fecile, 79, of Sinking Spring, passed away surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, August 5 at Reading Hospital, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of Louis Fecile, celebrating nearly 57 years of marriage together.

Born July 4, 1939 in Scranton, PA, Pat was a daughter of the late Robert and Ann (Bozan) Price. A graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Elizabeth, NJ, she received her nursing certification from the Holy Name Hospital Nursing Program in Teaneck, NJ. She worked for many years as a nurse at both St. Joseph’s Hospital, Reading, and Exeter Pediatrics, before retiring in 1993.

Pat was an incredible wife, mother and grandmother, who always gave generously of her time and talents to family, friends and anyone she encountered who was in need. She sewed, and in later years, quilted with great passion. She was especially fond of sewing baby blankets, and many, many newborns were snuggled by happy parents in a little bit of Pat’s love. She collected people, making her home a sanctuary for anyone in need, and created a sense of home and “family” no matter where she lived.

Pat was an avid reader and lifelong learner, taking adult classes at the college level to absorb as much from life as she could. She loved to cook amazing food, and equally loved to eat and share it!

More than anything, Pat was devoted to her family, especially cherishing time together at her beautiful beach house in Sea Isle City, where she made many lasting memories. She and Lou traveled the world, enjoying the history, culture and cuisine of places like England, China, Greece and Italy.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by their four children: John, husband of Kate, Coatesville; Laura, wife of Brian McLaughlin, Pennington, NJ; Mary Lynn Fecile, wife of Paul Haidet, Hummelstown; and Tricia Fecile-Moreland, wife of Damon, Wyncote. Also surviving is her sister Kathleen, wife of Edward Nawrocki, her brother Robert, husband of Maryann Price, and her 10 grandchildren, who will greatly miss their Grammy.

Pat was predeceased by four grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Pat will be celebrated Friday, August 10 at 10:00am at St. Ignatius of Loyola Church, 2810 St. Albans Drive, Sinking Spring, PA. Friends may call Thursday, August 9 from 6:00-8:00pm at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA.
