Obituary for Charles W. Youse

Charles W. Youse, of Exeter Township died on August 24, 2018, at the age of 99.

Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Irvin H. Youse, Sr. and Martha (Muthard) Youse, and a member of St. Catharine of Siena Church, Mt. Penn. He was employed by Sears Roebuck & Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1984.

Charles enjoyed woodworking with Tod Maurer, and taking trips to Hawk Mountain with Jeff and Cheryl Hannahoe and their sons Ryan and Jonathan. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends Curt and Kathy Miller.

He was predeceased by his wife, Victoria Boho Youse, in 1972 and by a son Charles Joseph Youse, in 1960. A resident of Reading for most of his life, he spent his final two years with family in Buffalo, New York.

Charles is survived by a sister-in-law, Grace Youse, the widow of his late brother, Irvin H. Youse, Jr., and by nine nieces and nephews, as well as three additional generations of nieces and nephews, and loving family in Poland.

Flowers graciously declined, but a donation to the charity of your choice is appreciated in his memory. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading, with the assistance of the Kolano Funeral Home in Buffalo, NY, is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, Pa., from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 29. Another viewing will be held at the St. Catherine of Siena Chapel at 2427 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, on August 30, from 9 a.m.-10 a.m., with Mass at 10 a.m..
