Obituary for Edward John Sep

Edward J. Sep, 74, of Sinking Spring, passed away while surrounded by his loving family on October 2, 2018, at the Reading Hospital.

Born on June 11, 1944, in Pottsville, Ed was the son of the late John and Constance (Strubel) Sep.

In addition to his beloved wife Ginny, of 52 years, Ed is survived by a daughter, Michelle (Sep) Coldren, wife of Matthew, Sinking Spring; and his two sons, Edward M., husband of Rachel (Zimmerman) Sep of Denver, and Brian C., husband of Abby (Goodman) Sep of Exeter. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren: Kyle, Keegan, and Kaitlyn Coldren, and Finley, Ella, Maxxen and Lincoln Sep. He loved being their "PopPop." One brother, John Sep, Norwalk, CA also survives him. He was predeceased by two sisters: Constance (Sep) Heckman and Jenny Sep.

After graduating from Nativity BVM High School in Pottsville, Ed enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he proudly served for four years. He then worked for Bell Telephone company. He retired after thirty-five years.

Ed was an avid Eagles fan, enjoyed traveling, going to the gym, and spending time with his family especially at the beach.

Ed was the past president of the Wilson Junior Soccer Club, a youth soccer coach, member of the VFW, treasurer of Green Valley Country Club for the past fourteen years, and member of St. Ignatius Loyola Church, in Whitfield.

A visitation will be held Sunday, October 7, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. A second visitation will be held Monday, October 8, 2018, at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, 2600 St. Albans Drive, Whitfield from 10 to 11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial at Sinking Spring Cemetery, with military honors, will immediately follow the Mass.
