Obituary for Donald F. Moyer

Donald F. Moyer, 94, formerly of Wyomissing, passed away on Tuesday, October 9 in ManorCare Health Services-Laureldale. Born September 5, 1924, in Reading, he was a son of the late Paul B. and Eleanor (Reber) Moyer. He was married for 70 years to Marijane (Gerbino) Moyer, who passed in 2017.

A 1942 graduate of Wilson High School, Donald served valiantly with the US Navy Air Corps during World War II. He then worked for over 22 years at Bob White Foods, West Reading, retiring as Sales Manager in 1986. Donald was a sports enthusiast and an avid golfer. He especially enjoyed baseball, cheering on “his” Philadelphia Phillies, and also faithfully supported Wilson sports for many years.

Donald is survived by two sons: Grant John Moyer (Viki), Sinking Spring; and Paul Brossman Moyer (Michelle), Mohrsville. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Grant, and Shannon Moyer, and Brian Pagerly; his great grandchildren: Colin, Declan, Ashlan, Trent, and Grant Moyer, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother Harold Moyer, a sister Louise Reynolds, and a grandson Kyle Pagerly.

A Celebration of Donald’s life will be held Friday, October 12, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading with burial to follow at Sinking Spring Cemetery. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 am at the funeral home.
