Obituary for William Ralph Maslo

William Ralph Maslo, 71, of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away November 6, 2018, at Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Sandra L. (Miller) Maslo; they were married on October 20, 1973 and just celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.

Born in Miami, FL, he was the son of the late William P. and Kathryn D. (Blum) Maslo.

Bill was a graduate of Reading High School in 1964, Albright College in 1969 with a BS degree in Economics; NYU in 1972 earning a Master of Business Administration; and Temple University in 1991 with a Master of Science Taxation.

From 1978 to the present he was a certified public accountant, spending the majority of those years owning and operating William R. Maslo, CPA in Reading.

He was a long-time active member of Alsace Lutheran Church, serving on various committees as well as teaching Sunday School. Bill had a strong faith and a genuine concern for others. He tried to help all those in need.

Professionally, Bill was a past president of the Reading Chapter of PICPA; was a member and officer of the National Association of Accountants; a member of the Reading Rotary; and was the former treasurer for both the Reading Berks Conference of Churches and the Reading Public Library.

A fervent believer in education, Bill was formerly an adjunct professor at Kutztown University, Albright College, and Penn State Berks. Albright recognized him with their Alumni Association Outstanding Business Leader Award.

Bill loved his family and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them. He enjoyed many things life had to offer in particular meeting new people, spending time with friends, country music, and traveling. He had great love and pride for his country and was able to see much of it over his lifetime, and he passed that love to his children.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Jillian Leigh, wife of Ryan A. Breisch, Temple, and Amanda Christine, wife of Jason R. Francoeur, Cherry Hill, NJ. Six grandchildren: Matthew, Caleb, Benjamin, Ethan, Andrew, and Anthony also survive him.
