Janice C. (Frantz) Niemczyk, 87, formerly of Muhlenberg Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at Berks Heim, with her loving family by her side. Born December 3, 1930, in Reading, she was the only child of the late Paul and Rose (Arrowsmith) Frantz. She was the widow of Theodore “Zip” Niemczyk, who passed in 2012, and they celebrated 63 wonderful years of marriage together.

A graduate of Reading High School, Janice devoted her entire life to her family. She was simply the most caring, loving wife, mother and grandmother imaginable. She was sweet and gracious, with a terrific sense of humor. She loved her home, especially when it was filled with her family, enjoying the amazing food she passionately cooked and served.

She also enjoyed dancing with her husband to great music, a good old-fashioned classic movie, dining out, shopping and gardening.

Janice is survived by her children: son Ted, husband of Debra Goodman, Mohnton; and daughters Marylee, wife of Paul Fontana, Leesport; Diana, wife of Oliver Wilson, Bernville; and Patricia, wife of Kevin Smith, Muhlenberg. Also surviving are her grandchildren, the lights of her life, who will all miss their “Nanny Jan”: Eric and Brock Wilson, Lauren Kirby, Taryn Smith, Derek Fontana, and Trevor and Skye Niemczyk, as well as six great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a grandson, Devin Fontana.

A celebration of Janice’s life will be held this Friday, November 9, 2018, at 10:00am at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 5153 Kutztown Road, Temple, followed by burial at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 9:00-10:00am at the funeral home.

The Niemczyk family would like to thank the caregivers at Berks Heim and Penn State Health, St Joseph for their passion and care of Janice the past eight years.
