Obituary for Patricia Ann Talarico

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Patricia Ann “Pat” Talarico on April 5, 2024.

She was born December 4, 1938 to the late Martin and Dorothy Boyer, spent most of her life in the Reading Area, and was a graduate of Central Catholic HS, Class of '56. Pat was married to her high school sweetheart, Francis J. "Butch" Talarico. For the past 66 years, they lived most of their lives in Wernersville, PA before moving to Shillington, PA. She was blessed to bring six wonderful children into this world, her 6Ts… Terry (Talarico) Weaber and Brian Blesi of Hartsville, SC, Thomas and Debra (Baldassar) Talarico of Bernville, PA, Timothy and Kathy (Schepers) Talarico of Fleetwood, PA, Todd and Heather (Tackett) Talarico of Pocono Pines, PA, Tina (Talarico) Natale and Michael Natale of Exeter, PA, and Tricia Talarico of State College, PA. This family has flourished with 21 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren, with another one on the way, to love and cherish. Pat, or Gracie as her husband called her, lived 85 years dedicated to her family and her faith. She is also survived by a brother, Marty Boyer, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William Boyer.

Pat loved all the animals that came in and out of her life, but most importantly, her poodle Tucker. She was an avid reader and enjoyed an active lifestyle of jogging and walking. Her happy place was creating the many beautiful gardens she maintained around the home she loved on Justa Road in Wernersville. Once her children were grown, she continued her service to others as a nurse’s aide at several local nursing homes. She also brought hope and joy to hospital patients as a Raggedy Anne volunteer and worked closely with Seniors Helping Seniors. She was very dedicated to the support of others and to her faith and always kept Jesus, and especially the Blessed Virgin Mary, very close to her heart.

Mom always had an opinion on most topics and was never shy to share them with all of her children (if they wanted to hear them or not). She was an extremely hard worker, always willing to give of herself to support her children and the love of her life, Butch. She was quick with a smile and an attitudinal look when she wasn’t buying what she was hearing. She loved to hear what was going on with her growing family and enjoyed the discussions about the many changes, challenges, and special milestones her growing family experienced on a daily basis.

"Mom always taught us to work hard, to keep our faith front and center, and to always remember that family is everything. We miss you Mom and thank you for helping each of us with a strong fundamental upbringing that we can bring forward to support this ever-growing family." ❤

The Talarico Family would like to especially thank the amazing team at the Caring Hospice organization and the Maidencreek Nursing Home staff for their wonderful care of our mother and making her a special part of their family.

“My mother kept a garden,
a garden of the heart;
she planted all the good things
that gave my life its start.
I am my mother’s garden.
I am her legacy.
I hope today she feels the love
reflected back from me."
