Edward J. Kuhn Jr. is a life resident of West Reading.

He is the son of the late Edward J. Kuhn, Sr., the founder of Kuhn Funeral Home, and Loretta C. (Boland) Kuhn.

Ed is the husband of Lynda (Hudson) Kuhn and has five children Edward J., III, husband of Jill Kuhn; Michael R., husband of Rachel, both of Wyomissing, Dr. Andrew Kuhn, husband of Tonya Lawrence of Elkins Park, PA, David J. Kuhn, husband of Jill Cremer of McLean, VA and Elizabeth (Kuhn), wife of Jed Chandler of White Marsh, MD.  Ed is extremely proud of his 15 grandchildren, Austin, Cassidy, Seth, Benjamin, Michael, Jr., Grace, Molly, Avery, Brady, Campbell, Avery, Brynn, Cole, Tessa and Gavin.

He is a member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church where is an Extraordinary Minister.

Ed is the director of the West Reading Summer Basketball League, which he started in 1965. Through this league he began the West Reading/ Sacramento, CA Basketball Cultural Exchange Program in 1972, and continues to thrive today. In 2014 Ed received the Wyomissing Area Education Foundation Distinguished Alumni Award for his long-standing commitment to both the West Reading School District and more recently to the Wyomissing Area School District.  He was inducted into the Berks County Basketball Hall of Fame in 2011, and the Berks Chapter of the PA Sports Hall of Fame in 2015.

Ed is a 1959 graduate of West Reading High School where he was a member of the state basketball championship team. In 1963 he graduated from Mount St. Mary's University, Emmitsburg, MD, where he served as president of student government and was inducted into the Mount Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007. In 2013 he received the Brute Medal from Mt. St. Mary's University. The medal is the highest honor given to an alumnus who distinguishes himself in his community and shows a continuous loyalty to The Mount. He was a graduate of American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service, NY, NY, in 1966.

Ed considers it an honor that he has been able to serve families for 50 years in Berks County.  His steady hand as the second generation leader of Kuhn Funeral Home has been a source of strength for five decades.

Michael Kuhn is president of Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading.  He is a partner with his father, Edward J. Kuhn, Jr., who is supervisor of their West Reading facility.  

Born and raised in West Reading, Mike went to Sacred Heart Parochial School, graduated from Holy Name High School in 1987 and Mt. St. Mary's University in 1991.  After graduating from The Mount, Mike taught 7th and 8th grade for two years at St. Elizabeth's Parochial School in Rockville, MD.  He went to mortuary school at New England Institute, Newton, MA where he graduated in 1994.  Mike did his internship at Kuhn Funeral Home and became a licensed funeral director in 1995.

With 22 years of valuable experience, Mike brings much expertise to the family business.  Mike manages the highly qualified Kuhn Funeral Home staff, emphasizing the importance of hard work, dedication, empathy and humility.  He enjoys brainstorming, goal setting, and executing future plans for the business.  Preplanning with individuals and families is a task Mike has always found rewarding.  Above all else, Mike finds great satisfaction in helping a family when they experience a loss.

Michael is very involved with the local community.  He currently is the president of the Wyomissing Area Soccer Club, has run the Reading United Summer Soccer League since 1999 (20 teams participated in 2016), was a runner up in the annual Kiss-A-Pig contest for the Olivet Boys and Girls Club of Reading, and took to the dance floor with his wife Rachel in Dancing with the Reading Stars for the Yocum Institute of the Arts.

A sports enthusiast, Mike played soccer, basketball and ran track in high school, and continued his soccer career at Mt. St. Mary's University.  In 2016, Mike was inducted into the Mount St. Mary's University Athletic Hall of Fame.

Mike is the husband of Rachel (Winans) Kuhn and has three children, Michael, Jr., Molly, and Brady.  In his spare time, he enjoys coaching his children in soccer and basketball, working out at Corps Fitness, Wyomissing, occasionally still plays in a pickup game of soccer or basketball, and reading.  Most important to Mike is spending time with his wife, Rachel, their children, McCoy (naughty yellow lab), and his extended family.

Mike considers it a great honor and privilege to continue the legacy of caring, compassionate, and dignified service to those that call on Kuhn Funeral Home for a third generation.

Rachel (Winans) Kuhn, wife of Mike, is a native of Wyomissing, graduating from Wyomissing High School in 1990.  She went on to receive a B.A. in Communications from Villanova University, graduating cum laude in 1994.  She earned her M.A. in Communications from the Pennsylvania State University in 1996 and began working in the advertising industry.  In 2000, she completed her teaching certification in secondary education.  

Rachel is a proud mom to her three children, Mikey, Molly and Brady and has enjoyed her time as a stay at home mom.  In the past few years, she has concentrated on leadership and volunteer opportunities through the PTA, IM ABLE Foundation and the Junior League of Reading.  Most recently, she served as president of the Junior League of Reading for 2014-15.
 
Rachel looks forward to participating in the family business and continuing the high quality of service on which Kuhn Funeral Home was founded.  She will specifically be assisting with obituaries, eulogies and community outreach for the funeral home.

Craig was proudly born and raised in Reading, having attended Reading High School, class of 1971.  He attained his Mortuary Science degree at Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, PA.

Craig is a PA Licensed Funeral Director and Certified Preplanning Consultant (CPC).  The CPC designation is the only accreditation that is endorsed by the National Funeral Directors Association.  It is an assurance to all families that Craig meets the highest standards of ethics, honesty, and integrity.

Having been in the funeral service business for over 20 years, Craig brings a level of caring professionalism to all of his endeavors.  He currently manages the Preplanning Division of Kuhn Funeral Home.   This includes meeting with families on a daily basis to help them with their funeral planning.  Craig is able to take this emotional and sometimes confusing process and make it a little easier.  He also conducts our Preplanning Seminars, which we're sure you've seen advertised!  Be assured, you will leave these seminars with a renewed understanding of the funeral process and how to protect your family.

Craig lives in Exeter Twp. with his wife, Connie, and their two rescue dogs, Baron and Willow.  His son Chad, husband of Michelle Stewart and their children, Paige and Keegan live in Mohnton, and his step-daughter, Amanda Rawley lives in Seattle, WA.

He enjoys sports and loves all styles of music.  He is a drummer and has played in a few of the local bands.  Craig enjoys filling in on drums with the worship team at Grace Fellowship Church.

In Craig's words, "We want to be sure that no one walks through the Kuhn Funeral Home doors uniformed or unprepared, especially on the worst day of their life. Our goal is to provide you with all the choices and options so you can make an informed decision about what's best for your family".

Brad is a native and lifetime resident of Berks County.

He is a 1995 graduate of Hamburg Area High School, attended Kutztown University and Berks Technical Institute earning a degree in Business Management. He also earned an Associate's Degree from Northhampton Community College in Applied Science specializing in Funeral Service in 2004.

Brad started his career with Kuhn Funeral Home in 2002. Starting first as a funeral trainee and then as an intern. Since then, Brad earned his Funeral Director’s license in 2006 and has worked every aspect of the funeral industry. His loyalty towards the funeral home and the surrounding communities is unparalleled.

Now a Bern Twp. resident, he and his wife Dr. Melinda Harrison-Krick have two children, a daughter Vienna and a son Henry. They enjoy spending time in the outdoors and playing with their beloved rescue dog, Onyx.

In his spare time, Brad enjoys watching baseball, hockey, football and is an advocate for outdoor sportsmanship. A life-long gun owner and enthusiast, Brad is a card carrying member of the National Rifle Association.

Suzanne graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and minors in Art and English.  She graduated from Northampton Community College in 2008 with an Associate's Degree in Applied Science in Mortuary and Funeral Service Education. She worked at the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home before coming to Kuhn Funeral Home in 2010, and became a licensed funeral director in 2012.

She grew up in northern New Jersey (Ramsey), and Devon, Pennsylvania.  A resident of Berks County since 2000, she currently resides in Womelsdorf with her other half of sixteen years, James Jancik. She is a member of the W.I.R.E.S Group of Womelsdorf and a true animal lover. She is a life-long New York Yankees fan.
Personal interests include reading, running, hiking, dancing at Native American powwows, and working on various art projects.

Suzanne is the embalmer/mortician at Kuhn Funeral Home and takes her position and responsibilities to heart. She truly understands the importance of caring for the dead, individual family expectations and the meaning of service. These are attributes which are evident in her attention to detail combined with her work ethic and dedication.

Deborah L. Evans resides in Leesport with her husband Rodney A. Evans. She has two children, Jennifer, wife of Drew Leck, and Brandon, husband to Karli Evans. Deborah is also a proud grandmother of three grandchildren, Jackson and Westley Leck and Emersyn Evans.

Debbie attended Exeter High School, Reading Area Community College and Empire Beauty School and is an active member of the West Reading/Wyomissing Rotary Club, Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce and Women to Women.  Debbie enjoys participating in community events and building relationships through her participation in these organizations.

Being an integral part of the Kuhn Funeral Home team since 2005 her compassion, kindness and work ethic are true assets to our funeral home.  Deborah appreciates the opportunity to practice a service above self philosophy to the community and families she serves.

Wilfredo Diaz Jr., resides with his wife, Megdahlia Diaz and two children, Javen and Amayah in Muhlenberg Township. Born in Humacao, PR, and raised in Reading, Freddie is a member of St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Reading, where he also attended school. Freddie is a 2001 graduate of Holy Name High School and a current student at Northampton Community College, Bethlehem, where he is studying Funeral Service.

Freddie started working for the Kuhn Funeral Home in 2009. Freddie is passionate about serving the families that call on him in their time of need. Freddie has now devoted his time and effort to make funeral service his career.  

Fluent in Spanish, Freddie brings the much needed skill to communicate effectively with those families who prefer to speak primarily in Spanish.


In his spare time, Freddie enjoys playing basketball, spending time with his family, and most importantly living life. His compassion for families and loyalty to the funeral home make him a key asset to the growth of Kuhn Funeral Home.

Amber Rickert is a Berks County native who was born and raised in Shillington, Pennsylvania.

She is a proud 2007 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School and attended both Shippensburg University and Kutztown University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Kutztown University in 2013. She also graduated from Northampton Community College in 2016 with an Associate’s Degree in Funeral Service Education.  At NCC she graduated with honors in mortuary science in addition to earning a scholarship from the Eastern Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association. She was the secretary for Sigma Phi Sigma which is a national funeral service fraternity dedicated to enhancing the education of funeral service practitioners. While attending Northampton Community college, she served as a Funeral Service Trainee at Harding Funeral Home, Inc. in Slatington, PA. Amber became a licensed funeral director in 2017.

Amber is the daughter of Denise M. Scharadin and the late William M. Rickert. She is the step-daughter of William S. Scharadin. She is a proud homeowner, who resides in a delightful neighborhood, in the heart of Shillington. She shares her home with her two cats: Nix and Nutz.

She is a proud and active member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church in Whitfield.

Amber is a full-time staff member of the Kuhn Funeral Home team, where she is a  licensed funeral director who is devoted to providing exceptional service to the families we serve. She is compassionate and devoted to helping families celebrate the lives of their loved ones and to help them find closure through high-quality and individualized funeral services.
