Obituary for Esther Adele Williamson (Klein)

Esther Adele (Klein) Williamson, 107, passed away peacefully Friday, December 7, 2018, in her Wyomissing home surrounded by her loving family, after a long and very full life. Born October 25, 1911, in Reading, she was the youngest child of the late John Warren and Anna (Lanz) Klein. She celebrated many wonderful years of marriage to the late Attorney Richard Taylor Williamson.

Esther was very well-educated, graduating Cum Laude from Wellesley College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Language. She was an esteemed educator in French, Latin and English, both at Reading High School and Albright College. She was very active, and a passionate volunteer, of the Wyomissing Library, and the former Community General Hospital.

A gentle, loving woman, Esther enjoyed needlework and antiques. Most of all, Esther adored her family, and she was always alert and supportive, right up until she joined her husband with the Lord. She was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Reading.

Esther is survived by her son, Robert Williamson, daughter Judith Krick, niece Norma (Klein) Mather, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her devoted caregiver and friend, Virginia Boro.

In addition to her husband and parents, Esther was predeceased by her sister Ruth and brother Norman.

A celebration of Esther’s life will be held at 9:30am on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 527 Washington Street, Reading, with Senior Pastor Alan Wolkenhauer presiding. Burial will follow in Womelsdorf Union Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00-9:30 in the Church.
