Obituary for Richard F. "Jake" Hujsa

Richard F. Hujsa, 85, formerly of Allentown, passed away, Monday, November 25, 2019, in Geisinger St. Luke's Hospital, Orwigsburg.

He was the beloved husband of Linda L. (Quarles) Hujsa.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Andrew and Gertrude ( ) Fiala.

Richard was a graduate of Allentown High School.

He was employed at ADT, Reading, and most recently Mack Trucks, Lehigh Valley, where he retired after 35 years.

Richard restored antique firearms for many people. He was an initiator and judge at Dixon Muzzleloading Shop Inc., Kempton, where he also taught the art of making and maintaining muzzleloaders. Richard taught an adult woodcarving class at Lehigh Carbon Community College and also taught children how to carve wood at many locations.

In addition to his wife Linda, Richard is survived by one brother: Robert Hujsa, Bath; and two step sons: William Van Jahnke, Carrollton, TX, and Kyle Van Jahnke, Phoenix, AZ.

He was predeceased by seven siblings.

A celebration of life service will be held Friday, November 29, 2019, at 12 noon, at Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, 40 South 4th Street, Hamburg. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Richard's honor to Lehigh Valley Cancer Support Community, 944 Marcon Blvd #110, Allentown, PA 18109.
