Mary R.  Devlin (Gochnour)
Mary R. Devlin, of Sinking Spring, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017, in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center.

Her husband, David A. Devlin, died in 1991.

Born in Johnstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Wilber J. and Eva I. (Witkovskie) Gochnour.

Mary was a graduate of Franklin East Taylor High School, Johnstown, Conemaugh Valley School of Nursing, Johnstown, 1960, and Westmoreland-Latrobe Shool of Anesthesia, 1967. She later received a B.A. in Healthcare Administration from Ottawa University, Kansas.

She was employed at Health South Surgery Center, Lancaster, as a Chief CRNA. Mary was a former employee of Lee Hospital, Johnstown, where she helped establish a school of anesthesia for nurses, and was the Chief CRNA at the former Community General Hospital, Reading.

Mary was the past president, director, and treasurer of Pennsylvania Association of Nurse Anesthetists.

She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, Whitfield, where she served on the stewardship committee, was a member of the parish nurses, and established the greeters ministry.

Mary loved the snow and was an avid skier. She enjoyed traveling and scrapbooking.

Mary is survived by her special friend and second partner, Dick Pratt, Spring Twp., three sisters: Daisy, wife of Ronald Snyder, Sinking Spring, Sue Hornak, Reading, and Delores Rowley, Reading. A niece, Noel Snyder Bao, wife of Jason Bao, Sinking Spring, a great niece, Emma Bao, and a great nephew, Ethan Bao also survive her. She considered Dick's family her own. They include Dave, husband of Sharon Pratt, Allentown, Bob, husband of Theresa Szymborski, Muhlenberg Twp., and Kelly, wife of Andy Schreffler, Lower Heidelberg Twp., as well as Dick's seven grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter..

She was predeceased by a brother, Farrell Gochnour, and a sister, Kathryn Gochnour.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, November 16, 2017, at 11 a.m., at St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, 2600 St Alban's Dr, Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call two hours prior to the mass at the church, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Conemaugh Valley School of Nursing, 1086 Franklin Street, Johnstown, PA 15601, or St. Ignatius Loyola R.C.
