Obituary for
Edward W. Przybylski
Edward William Przybylski, 86, of Kenhorst, passed away November 29, 2017, in the Reading Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of the late Loretta M. (Long) Przybylski, with whom he celebrated 44 years of marriage.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Ludwig and Suzanna (Ziolkowski) Przybylski.
He was a 1948 graduate of Reading High School.
Edward enlisted in the US Navy shortly after graduation, and stayed for a period of 22 years. During that span, he served on nine different ships, including a shore tour in Italy, and recruiting duties in Reading, PA, and Washington, DC. Three ships he served on did tours in Vietnam and one of the ships did a tour in Eniwetok during a period of nuclear testing. Edward rose to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer and worked for the Pentagon. After his military service he settled in Reading, and worked for H.E. Fortna as a systems consultant till his retirement in 1995.
Edward was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.
He will be remembered for many things including being a great human being and an intelligent individual. Edward was well loved and respected by all who knew him. He made everyone around him feel comfortable and wanted. A handyman, he was always willing and able to help anyone who needed it; he was the one that everyone counted on.
Edward volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was heavily involved in military organizations.
He is survived by two children: Andrea, wife of David Manegold, Bernville; and Thomas Przybylski, Indiana. Four grandchildren: Joseph Calvaresi III, Jason Calvaresi, Katelyn Leas, and Zachery Manegold; two great-grandchildren: Carter Spann, and Chase Calvaresi and numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.
Edward was predeceased by five siblings: Genevieve Blatt, Jean Liss, Mary Cibula, John Parker, and Helen Bush.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 4, 2017, at 10 a.m. at St. John Baptist de la Salle R.C. Church, 420 Holland St, Shillington, PA 19607. Burial will be at St Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 8 to 9 :30 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading.
