Sieglinde K. Smart, 84, passed away December 12, 2017, in her West Reading residence. She was a resident of West Reading for 51 years.

Her husband, James C. Smith, died in January of 2011; she was also predeceased by her first husband, Karl Smart.

Born in Nuremberg, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Edgar E. and Klara M. (Messera) Wagner.

She was employed by R.M. Palmer Corp. and later Narrow Fabric until her retirement.

Sieglinde dedicated her life to her family. She is survived by six children: Linda Smart Bourgeois (Gary Attardo), New Orleans, LA; Louise Tate (Harold), Forest City, NC; Patricia Sampson (Jeff), Alexandria, LA; Theresa Gail Smart (deceased); James C. Smith, Jr. (deceased); and Charles Smart (Tamara), West Reading. She has 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three siblings: Ruth Schulze, Bend, OR, Edgar Wagner, Berlin, Germany, Agnes Wagner, Munich, Germany.

A celebration of Sieglinde's life will be announced in January. Contributions may be made to Berks Visiting Nurses Association, 1170 Berkshire Blvd., Wyomissing, PA 19610. Edward J.
